Summer Camp (July 20-24)
Japan Camps welcomes kids from across the world for our unforgettable camps – all in English!
Welcome to Camp Akagi! In partnership with Nishimachi International School, Camp Akagi is the best way for kids ages 6–12 to enjoy a more classic summer camp experience right in Japan. Set in the beautiful Japanese countryside near Mount Akagi, Gunma Prefecture, this 5-day, 4-night sleepaway camp is packed with both indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring nonstop fun with friends new and old from around the world.
Please note that unlike our Code Quest camps, Camp Akagi is not a tech-focused camp program.
During the day, campers enjoy a variety of summer camp favorites like canoeing and kayaking, capture the flag, water fights, and more. Indoor activities (held in a beautifully renovated Japanese cabin) include arts and crafts, talent shows, science experiments, and more. In the evening, the whole group comes together for even more summer camp classics like campfires and s’mores, stargazing, movie nights, pizza parties, and outdoor barbecues.
Parents can feel confident knowing that the camp is fully supervised by our caring, English-speaking staff, with all meals, lodging, transportation, and activities included. Camp Akagi is a once-in-a-lifetime getaway, offering kids a classic summer camp experience with friends, surrounded by the magic of the Japanese countryside. Unplug and explore!

My child has dietary restrictions. Can they still participate?
Absolutely! Please list any dietary needs or restrictions in the registration form and we will gladly accommodate. Our camp meals avoid common allergens, and are 100% peanut free.
